On 9 November 1944 the Grand Master Frank James Marshall died of a heart attack, collapsed while walking the streets of New York. 32 years earlier, in Breslau tournament, had won spectacularly against Stefan Lewitky playing with white. After black move 23, Lewitky turned the king and the audience watched, with an irrepressible thrill it rained gold coins on board.

What does the black plays?

Regardless, thanks.  I've never seen any source cover Qe5!

It's by far the best move in chess in my opinion. It's just absolutely awesome. All the pins, forks, and tricks involved in just one move is just spectacular!

It was for Levitsky

The gold coins weren't for Marshall, they were for the lucky gamblers who bet on Marshall to win - Lewitsky was a big favorite after beating Lasker and Rubinstein in the same tnmt. But maybe some of the winners "tipped" Marshall?
