800 ranked player looking for advice

Of course 1000 is a realistic goal in twelve months.
1500 might be realistic, if you're willing to work hard.

I do about 2 hours a day of chess, how many hours do you think I would need to get 1500 in a year

Go onto lessons and study the patterns, within a short period of time you will recognise the patterns emerging from your own games, good luck
its not all about playing chess games, its about learning opening theory, engages especially king and pawn ones as they are a common thing in your rating for example (one pawn up king pawn engame, two pawn up king and pawn engame, king opposition- holding a draw etc) you can find a lot if not all of them in then check-tests in chess.com, you mostly need a diamond membership to view them but you just need to see the titles and look them up, then practice them, also work on middle game strategy and attacking the enemy king, do puzzles, work on king safety, all of theese can be found at the check-tests

you can have the best opening game in the world, but unless you have a good grasp of the middle game then it comes to nothing, hence emerging patterns
You've come to the right place. You are going to be a success and have the bestest advice on the forums. Such an original question too. Amazing.

I play chess for an hour or so then I do puzzles and watch chess videos, lately ive been watching gotham chess's analyzing the rapid tournament.
To go beyond 1000 you should try learn the following
1. Develop your pieces in the opening, which in ordinary english means you should place your knights, bishops, rooks in good positions so they can target the opponent without being targets themselves.
2. Learn tactics to capture enemy pieces which is easiest done by solving puzzles. If you learned how to develop your pieces you will get a lot of easy captures.
3. Avoid one move blunders, meaning don't let your opponent take your pieces.
4. Learn checkmate patterns, how to checkmate your opponent with the queen, two rooks, rook and a king, the backrank checkmate.
5. Use the analysis tools after losses so you can see why your opponent captured your pieces.
A common mistake from beginners is that they chase enemy pieces, meaning they try to attack pieces that can easily just move away. Another mistake is that beginners often trade pieces for no reason. You should only trade when you are up pieces or if the piece is in dangerous locations.

another idea would be to look at your game from the side of their opponent, asking what they would do, what you would do in their position. Think more I guess, if you own a chessboard use the chessboard for analysis. Do puzzles and study important endgames K+B+B v K and stuff like that.

unfortunately I seem to have developed a chess pattern blindness, I dont recognise patterns the way I used to

Hi, I am ~800 in rapid and was wondering if 1000 is a realistic goal by the end of 2021. I am also looking for advice to guide be to 1000 in rapid. Thanks!
Of course. Carlsen once said until you hit 2000 it's basically all tactics. Do tactics trainer many times a day and keep getting stronger! If you want lessons I'm pretty affordable.

I was looking on chess.com and could not find a tactic trainer section, I do lots of drills, is that it?

It took me one month to go from 400 to 1200 rating on chess.com daily. I probably could have made three times as much progress if I started hundreds of games and spent all day making moves in them.
800-1000 in a whole year should be super doable
This says somebody who "learned chess 11/29/2020" and got in his first chess game an accurancy of almost 100%. Very suspicious.
