Time Controls - Everything You Wanted To Know...

I play 20 min. games due to both time restrictions and time to think between moves.
"I’ve read that 15/10 is ideal for beginners." ++ Yes.
"My question is what would be a ballpark number of minutes playing at 15/10?"
++ How many moves do your games last? Say 40 moves. Then 15 min + 40*10 seconds = 22 minutes/player = 44 minutes total if both use all time. So 15|10 lasts about the same as 20|0.
"I realize that the answer is dependent on the number of moves" ++ Yes
What seems to be almost completely forgotten/dismissed is that 15/10 is still very much speed chess and thus not really ideal for beginners. It is merely the best thing often available online, since classical chess is not played very much.
15/10 is still very much more reasonable than say 3/2 blitz or bullet…
Nerds
Yeah, so what are you doing here ”Mr. tough guy”? Go boxing or doing some other brainless physical activity. Those are not nerdy, those are tough, physical sports, for the people who are not nerds aka… OK I better not write it, but you’ll guess it, although maybe not, since you are not a nerd after all…
I’ve read that 15/10 is ideal for beginners.
My question is what would be a ballpark number of minutes playing at 15/10? I realize that the answer is dependent on the number of moves but is there an average number, time wise?
