Chess.com algorithm

Hi, I'm a novice chess player previously interested as a kid,not inspiring for greatness but just enjoy the game. I've very recently starting watching the excellent tuition presentations on this website to refresh my memory and enhance my knowledge, but surprised by how easy (after the refresh) some of the computer games are on chess.com....I'm up to level 5 now without too much resistance... I know everyone talks of ratings, but how does this engine compare to, say, Stockfish? I'm guest very well!

If you use the site through the desktop browser, the engine levels should be displayed:

At level 5, the engine is playing at an estimated 850 rating - this would be in the novice to beginner category.

Ah, excellent thanks, I didn't see that. I'm immersing myself in everything chess related at the moment and excited to be a part of it again. Truly a wonderful sport, imho the best of.
