Chess.com Premium

To be honest, you are better off using the open-sourced chess site. Free analysis, can create studies, and as long as you only watch the videos on Chess.com and not do the exercises, you can view as many of them as you want. I've found the videos good up to mastery (due to a glitch I exploited) although I find the opening one's good at introducing you to some openings they don't go as in-depth as a book.
I use the study feature on Lichess for the books I read as they go more in-depth, easy to refer back to, and avoids trying to understand someone's accent. Here are two of my studies here and here so you can have something to reference. Check this link for free e-books. Hope this helps.

I played for, don´t know exactly, 5 months with the free edition and after that I knew, I would stick with it and so I upgradet to the highest possible level - no adds, every possibility to learn without restrictions and, as I know since some time, even the feature that If I´m in time trouble they set me on holidays (if only my employer would do the same ). So I never regretted this decision!

I must also agree with archaja here. Iv been premium for about 10 years nearly and really find it helps me a lot and gives me confidence knowing i can do my tactics and lessons wherever i am.

Yes, it does help... if you use it. I suggest the gold. You can always step up if you want to. Now, as for using it, I’d better get with it!

I think it's VERY worth it. If you are a new player the Lessons from the guide are very very easy to follow and insanely well done. For the price you are getting crazy value. I think with a gold membership you can do all the beginner ones unlimited.

Do the free week trial and then do the Lessons that have guide next to them and see if you like them. I trust you will and they will get you on track to improve and enjoy the game.

I agree! I love to follow the lessons. Crystal clear! It´s fun to learn like this.

It's so hard to decide if it's worth it or not.
Everything on chess.com can be found elsewhere for free. You can download pgn's and run them through stockfish on your own computer or phone. You can watch videos on youtube. You can do lessons from books from the library.
You are paying for 4 things.
1. The convenance of just running an analysis instead of bring it to another tool.
2. More lessons, bots and puzzles
3. Videos, some are pretty mind melting, while others are a waste of time.
4. No ads, which is always nice.
I guess for a newbie, I would hold off until you think you would use it. Then I would try it for a month and decide.

Yes, that´s a good advice! For me one argument was always to have everything in one hand. I also room around on the internet, but it´s the same. Some tutorials are good and some are pretty bad stuff. And I did not find something like the lessons step for step and nearly endless like here in chess.com.
