Mobilize your pieces first.

Then try to win pieces.

Last try to checkmate.

thanks! but is this only in beginner stage?

cause i usually see pro players tend to checkmate early

The problem is early in the game there are no forced checkmates, so you can't play for checkmate unless your opponent is bad.

You can attack the king and make threats very early in the game, but those threats are typically used as leverage to gain an advantage (like active pieces or winning material), and checkmate only comes later.

i understand now thanks

Well, learn the basic tactics and make sure that you don't miss any. Take pieces for now, and make sure they aren't trapping you. Don't play positional chess.

The order to check that I've heard over and over:

1) Check to see if you have any undefended pieces.

2) Check to see if your opponent has any undefended pieces.
3) Can you threaten any of your opponent's pieces?
4) Can you develop any of your own pieces?

You look for small advantages at the start of the game and expand them as the game goes on. The obvious goal is to lead to checkmate, or, more correctly, your opponent’s resignation.
