Coaching costs vary wildly dependent on the level of experience of the coach, the frequency of coaching as well as country they are based in (purchasing power parity).

In the UK, using a UK-based coaching website, typical per hour rates range from £20 per hour up to £60 per hour.
It looks to be largely new/club level players offering their coaching services to beginners at the lower end, and it's a GM who is offering his services at the higher end.

If the coach is well known and/or generates a lot of income elsewhere (Twitch, Youtube, Courses, etc) they are likely to be at a much higher rate due to their limited time and demand.
It's not uncommon to see the most popular IMs/GMs charging £70-£150 per hour.

I've trialled lessons at £35, £40, £65 and £125 per hour.
Tbh, the coach who delivered lessons at £35 per hour was comparable to the coach who delivered at £125 per hour. Both were great. As @Crush2dust commented above, price is no guarentee of quality and is more of a reflection of the coaches demand - which could be due to quality or could be due to popularity - or simply a reflection of the financial climate of the country they reside in!

I'd say unless you are a strong club level player, you do not need an IM/GM coach. You'd be much better off financially hiring an 'Expert' coach in the 2000-2200 range. It'll likely be 1/3rd of the price and it'll be a similar delivery.

You may also find coaches based in other countries which might be less financially developed, offering coaching for the equivalent of $10 per hour. Given 99% of lessons are held online these days - you have almost every option at your disposal! The main thing is to find a coach who communicates clearly and who you get on with!

Kraig explaind everything to the smallest finesse and no explanation needed. I think it is crazy to give more than 50$ per hour. Only if you are already GM and need some super GM help. Otherveise there is lot of great players under 50$ per hoir budget. Best regards Ivan
