Do you want to have 600 or less rating?

It's a luxury to not be concerned with the rating. Just a small benefit of not being a pro. At first, it did bother me to see my rating plummet when I decided to try playing live opponents online. Now, I don't mind. I love to play chess and when someone else enjoys playing against me, I love it even more! What I feel matters most is that the player is enjoying the game.
My competitive mentality won't allow me to enjoy anything for the sake of doing something - if I do something, I have to be better than all my friends.

Great attitude! I also noticed that it's a really good way to learn new stuff when you can try them live against another person and it doesn't matter that the rating goes down if you mess up badly.
Thank you! It took 23 games straight through the night, pure exhaustion, and the worst rating I've had to realize that lol.
Agreed, it is definitely an advantage to OTB games.

This resource may help sub-600 players navigate the opening stage of the game. As for the rest, mostly tactics would help. Also some basic theoretical endgames would be nice.

I’m brand new to chess. I’ve only been on here for a week or so, and I’ve been taking my sweet time with lessons and puzzles. I can’t wait to get higher... but for now I’m just enjoying myself 😂😂

I wanna get better but the lessons are soooooo boring and long, it makes me wanna tear out my eyes
Then find ways to make the learning fun. If you don't like the format of chess.com "lessons" then try videos, books, articles, endgame studies, tactics training and so on. Different people have different learning styles, so it makes sense that some forms of learning are more boring to some than others. Experiment a bit and find how you become motivated to learn
