Stalemate. The King had nowhere to move but they were not in check. The enemy King needs to be in check on your final move. Otherwise, when all the possible squares the king could move to are in check but the king is not in check then that's stalemate.
That said, I just looked at your last game and that was not stalemate. It looks as if you reached 100 moves and that was game over. Since neither side had a win it was classified as a draw.
Try running through this drill here on chess.com. The engine will tell you if your move was the most efficient or not. Play through it and see how you do. There's a bunch of different drills here under the puzzle tab.
Hey,guys.. New to chess here. I started playing 3 weeks ago and apparently I still don’t know what the rules are. I had the same situation in two of my games and it went like this:
i had my queen and king and the opponent had only his king (in one game the opponent had a few other pawns and rooks) ... I gave him checks all the time and in the end it was a draw ... I still had a lot of time left and so did he/she
why is this happening and why I couldn’t win ?
