easy openings are more complex than complicated?

I am playing from 2 months, I am 850 now. I noticed I am much better with the black where I play the sicilian (a couple of variations i like connected with the french defense).

With white I still don't have an opening which fits for me. I am playing the London system with depressing results. The times I tried instead to play the sicilian with white (en english opening variation) I win much more easily.

why? do I have issue managing a conflicting centre? would you have an opening with white that could fit better with me (given the details I explained) in order to enlarge a bit the repertoire?

Kind Regards

Try Ruy Lopez or Italian opening against ...e5 and if ...c5 you are likely in the sicilian but with white.

Hi thank you for the hint, I was thinking I would like start with d4, maybe with the Catalan, it seems to be interesting even if complicated... but I like the expansion on the queen side and the weak center for the opponent, which are the two components which lead me to a congenial position in the Sicilian as black. I’ll try. :-)

I'm no help with d4 openings.  happy.pngI like open attacking games with e4, but d4 is great for postional slow maneuvering games if that is your style.

Play 1. c4 and pretend you're playing the Sicilian, a whole move up.
