Sounds good. I would just add one thing, because it was not clear to me from your post, if they do not know how to play regular chess, it might be better to start with the basics first.
I recently came across this chess variant and also enjoy it.

After multiple experiences, I suggest that players better choose the rook position before choosing the King`s position to preserve the legal position for King according to the "restriction".

O Connor, invite peoples who already know the rule of classical chess, because it is easier. Start with people on your family or friends in the neighborhood.
N remember, for yer own safety play, it iz not recommended to invite stranger to play the Fischer Random in yer house.. n also Do not kidnap someone just to play the variant with you,Connor ,because it iz against the law
Castling on Fischer random (otb or online chess )
The diagram above is example of randomize position in FR chess. N you play as White. But How to castle? I often read this question on awr beloved site. So here is the answer.
1. Just like classical chess, the 1st rule is the King must never move from its original place.
2. There must be No pieces between King and Rook. The area of the castling must be clear, without obstacle.
3. In online match, say you want to castle to the left, just place/move your King to the a1 where the left Rook is positioned, computer program will automatically place your King at c1 and the rook at d1. & if you want to castling to the Right, you just need to move / place your King at the position of the Right Rook in g1, it will placed automatically at g1 with the rook at e1. In other words, you must move the King to the rook position.
4. While in Over the board match, if you want to castling to the left, you must move / place the King first to c1 (although it is the same place, but rule is rule ) and then followed by your rook to d1. And if you want to castling to the right, move the King to g1, then followed by moving your g1 Rook to f1 square.
Okay, hope ye all understand
Most of the professional chess players are already familiar with the Fischer Random chess & rule. I as an amateur really love this variant. So, to make it more popular like we all hope, we could start spread the FR at home, with awr Family & Friends !
Invite your brother / friend who never play this variant and teach them how to play.
In the tournament, the arrangement of pieces are on the hand of the tournament arbiters with the help of software. But when you play with your brother ( just the two of you), then who would choose the position ?
1. You could start like classical chess, decide who play as White & who`s Black, then set up the pawns position like in regular.
2. Then you should teach the "restriction" on the randomization
* The king must be placed on a square between the rooks
* The bishops must be placed on opposite-color squares.
3. And continue like these in White side position ...
* Whoever play as White choose the King position, then the Black choose the Queen position.
* Next will back to the White player to decide where white Bishop to be placed, followed by the Black player to choose the black Bishop position.
* After that, the White player decide where the 1st Knight to be placed, followed by the Black to decide the other Knight`s position
* The last will be two Rook position, N like before, it turn back to White to decide the position followed by Black decision to choose the position of the other Rook.
4. Make similar arrangement position on Black side.
Okay, that's my simple guidance for ye all amateur who love Fischer Random. Lets make this variant great like this another topic`s wish ( https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/will-fischer-random-chess-now-also-become-more-popular-and-accepted-on-all-levels ) .
We are making FischerRandom great
