Hi Everyone - My first post in this Forum. I'm Tom, a young player from Wales.
I'm very new to chess, but have quickly found myself drawn to the game in any free time I have. I started very casually, and ended up dropping down to 200 ELO, then I started taking the game a little more seriously, and wanted to learn and understand the mechanics and algorithms. I started watching some of the top grandmasters play, watched some useful tutorials by GothamChess, and signed up to the 7-day free premium trial, which allowed me access to the Game Review and I've worked my way up to around 500 ELO. Still very much beginner level of course, I still make some silly blunders, and I've got a lot of improving to do, but I'm proud of my progress so far.
Unfortunately, that free trial expired a few days ago, and although I consider chess to now be becoming a long-term great passion of mine, I can't commit to the subscription at least for now.
I know that there are other resources and guides out there that I have found very helpful, but putting what I've learned into practice and then having the ability to analyse my own performance is something that I found very helpful and I have really been missing over the last few days. I was wondering if anyone could suggest any alternatives specifically to the Game Review?
