Recently I've been noticing in my recent games that I keep making blunders. It's been costing me the game most of the time.

Any tips on how to avoid blunders?

Before making a move, check if any of your pieces are under attack by your opponent. This includes the piece you will move.

Also before moving your piece, check to see if this move leaves any pieces undefended and can be taken.

Everyone blunders!. There is no single chess player who doesn’t blunder, even great grandmasters. Case and point, google on how Vishy Anand lost in 6 moves to Zapata Alonso. Anand was already a GM and Alonso was an IM back then.

It’s just that at lower level, players tend to blunder more often. That is normal. That’s part of learning process. The good thing though is that his opponent of the same level blunders just as much. And most of the time, they don’t see the blunder. At higher level, they don’t blunder often, but when they do, the opponent can see it right away.

Do tactical puzzles regularly. Ignore the clock and aim to get them right first time. Blundering is a symptom of weak calculation and visualisation skills - being able to think about a position in your head before the moves appear on the board. Puzzles will strengthen this ability. Give it time (months), you will blunder less. I do 5 hard puzzles every day that normally take me a few minutes each to solve.
