how do the clubs on chess.com work? I would like to join a club but don’t understand the way they work. If I were to join a club I would like it to be a friendly, polite one. Too often I play against a random opponent and they are either rude or they ignore my good luck message. Help, please!

Hey! It depends on what kind of clubs you want to join. There are chess.com's official clubs and they are maintained by very kind mods and the staff. So, you don't need to worry about negative things. And there are many other clubs by friendly chess community members only. Then, there are fan clubs by famous streamers and grandmasters . They organize viewer arenas and some GMs might use it even for coaching purpose also. Most of the people you meet would be very friendly. So, make sure why and what kind of clubs you want to join!

Thank you HM. What happens within clubs? I’m really at the lowest level of understanding! Games? Discussions? Training? How do I join? How do I decide which one to join? I’ve joined one Club accidentally. How do I leave?

Yes! All of whatever you just mentioned happen in clubs. If you love daily chess, most of the clubs that you consider organize daily chess tournaments. To leave a club, you will have the option to exit the club on its page itself. Go to the club page and at the bottom you can find settings!

Most clubs play daily team matches and vote chess games against other clubs.

Vote chess is a good way to learn from stronger players. In vote chess you can discuss opening theory and possible lines with other members of the club.

You can also join my club if you want. The link is on my profile. (P.S The club says 4 members but we actually need to start tournaments even though it says 5. I don't count because I am the owner.)
