White to move. There are two ways that white can checkmate black. What are those two ways? This position showed up in a recent game of mine.
Nice puzzle, Lauren
I may be confused, but aren't there three ways to mate?
Nd6 and exd7.
Nd6, Ne6, and exd7
exd7#, Nd6#. Nf6+ isn't checkmate because the king can take the bishop seen as the knight gets in the way of the queen. Qxg6+ give away the queen. Those are all four legal checls. So there are only two checkmates (like you said)
Nice puzzle
