Blocking wayward queen is a good way to reduce white's attack power, you can use the modern defense( g7) or the Desprez opening( h4)

If you use other moves then white can directly use the wayward queen which have lots of attack power.

But if you use the modern defense or the Desprez opening then you can prevent white using wayward queen.

If you want to prevent white using the wayward queen use the move above!

Facepalm.

You want to prevent your opponent to make a really bad move (2. Qh5), so you make a really bad move yourself (1. - h5). Nice.

umm but if white get qh5 he or she can check

The wayward queen attack is terrible. There are much better ways to counter it. 1...h5 is simply a bad move, and 1...g6 (the Modern/Robatsch Defense) is not used for this purpose, as it's a much more complex opening.

Punishing the wayward queen attack, as with most premature queen attacks, is quite easy:

2...Nc6 simply defends black's e-pawn from the queen and develops a piece at the same time. If white tries to go for the Scholar's Mate with 3. Bc4 as shown in the diagram above, you can defend from that threat and attack the queen at the same time with 3...g6. And if white still insists on checkmating you by retreating their queen to f3, you can simply play 4...Nf6, developing a piece and blocking the checkmate threat at the same time. At this point, black is simply better than white, having developed more pieces, whereas white made 2 moves with their queen and accomplished nothing.

White, at this point, has given up trying to checkmate you, and could continue to develop naturally with a move like 5.Nc3:

...which would only hurt them more, as 5...Nd4 attacks the queen and threatens to fork the king and the rook at the c2 square at the same time, so white has no choice but to move their queen all the way back to d1 in order to defend against both threats. In this position, white has wasted 3 moves with their queen, all while black got a solid advantage and a beautiful centralised knight. This obviously wouldn't have worked if white had played 5. c3, but that would still be good for black as the pawn on c3 would be blocking the b1 knight's best square and the queen on f3 would block the g1 knight's best square. So black would still have a much more comfortable position.

If you want to learn more about how to punish the wayward queen attacks (and early queen attacks in general), you can research this on YouTube as there are plenty of videos about this topic on there. Good luck!
