Im stuck at 700 Elo in Rapid and Blitz.

How do I improve?

Does anyone have any tipps or tricks to use for me or just some advice or help?

Kind regards

Study all the phases of the game at your level. Opening, middle game, and endgame. You have to know basic endgames ie. checkmates with Q, then R, then BB etc. Apply sound opening principles ie. central control, proper piece development, king safety. Do a lot of tactics. Start with checkmates in one move, then 2 moves, then 3 moves, then different elements ie pins, forks, skewers etc. then combine them with "combinations". Learn positional elements ie. NvB, bad bishops, bishop pair, open lines and diagonals, pawn formation etc. Lastly, the most important thing is "enjoy the game".

Play a lot, analyze your games, and primarily study tactics. Your knowledge of openings, endgame, middlegame, etc. will come from analyzing your games and going over grandmaster games. Only study one of those specific topics if it is clear you are specifically losing because of that topic.

As a coach, I can help you with any part of that process, as well as teach you EXACTLY how to think at every stage of the game. Good luck! happy.png

I think you just copy-pasted your answer again.

It doesnt help me at all.

Play the coach bots and be sure to analyze your games after you play them, even if its once a day without premium. Also when doing game review be sure to look at all your moves, not just blunders, so that you understand how you got a "best move" even when it was just a random move.

If you want to improve at chess, play as much hours per day as possible in your time schedule, the first 100 hours you won't see any progress but after 100 hours you will start to see your rating increase linearly. If you take a break, your progress will reset, and you will need to put in 100 hours again to start increasing. (break that is longer than 2 months)

Improving from 700 ELO is not actually that hard. You have to build a few simple habits. Once you do that, your rating will almost automatically soar well above 1100. After that, you will have to learn some new skills

Here's what you need to do. When your opponent moves, you have to take a moment to look at the new position in front of you. Is your opponent threatening anything? Does he have any checks or captures.? Can you handle thse threats, or do you need to defend something? Next, look for your opportunities. Does he have undefended pieces? Do you have any checks or captures? does he have any defenses to your threats? Do this on every turn! Soon, you won't be leaving pieces hanging for him to take and you won't be surprised by unexpected checks. Instead, you will be picking off his loose pieces and surprising him with unexpected checks. You will be winning games

Improve elementary tactics. You are dropping pieces in every game. You are missing pieces that your opponents drop.

Some of your advice is quite good, but this link is a collection of links without clear description, nor any evaluation of merits. Maybe reduce the sites you recommend to a few that are useful and explain why.

.

I have used Pandolfini’s books to learn vital skills and some of his works have influenced how I teach beginners (something I’ve been doing nearly a quarter century). Beginning Chess offers 300 exercises with simple tactics and few pieces. No other resource is better suited for teaching elementary contacts, except perhaps a Kindle book that was produced in imitation of Pandolfini’s: https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Tactics-Building-Foundation-Chess-ebook/dp/B06XKG1VZD/

.

I use Bill Wall’s page often. He has many PGN files available for download. When I am reading a chess book, it is often helpful to have the games or positions from the book on my iPad or laptop. For this purpose, Wall’s page serves well. However, there are always errors in the files.

Wall is an uncritical gatherer. He has brought together more chess material on the web than any other person and he’s been doing it longer. But, he does not separate the real from the fake. He perpetuates myths, legends, and lies along with accurate history. When I am googling a topic and the search engine brings up a page of his, I keep scrolling. I have found too many errors over the years to trust anything he writes. The same sloppiness applies to his PGN files. No one checks them for accuracy.

.

Perhaps you could explain why or how you find Bill Wall’s pages useful.
