How to not depend on blunders from the opponent

Hey all, Recently I made some progress in my rating, and my opponents make less and less blunders. I have a hard time playing these matches, and mostly lose in the endgames of these. Do you have any suggestions on how to play against these opponents. I would like to hear from you all

You have brought your rating up to 1020 in rapid. There are undoubtedly still plenty of blunders.

But you can study endgame fundamentals so you win more endgames.   The lessons here in endgame play will pay off. The endgame drills are very good to practice what you have learned.

so from now on, focus on endgames mostly? I dont have premium but I will figure out a way to practice that properly!🙂

Hi there. My suggestions is tweak the emphasis of what you study rather than focusing exclusively on endgames. Tactics, calculation, etc are still important so continue to work on these. @notmtwain +1. The endgame lessons and drills on here are good and will teach you many basic techniques. Am I allowed to mention Chessable on here? I just did. They have a couple of free endgame courses which I think are very good.

Example games? Specifics are almost always best when asking these kinds of questions, as it gives us details to work with. I can tell you I still regularly win games off of opposing blunders, and I'm a generally high 1300s player, currently in the 1400s, and still seeing it.

thank you Mark for your suggestion, I will use the lessons from chessable to improve my games! I will also try to not only focus on the endgame only, but also on the generals

@catmaster, i dont know yet how to put the games on the forum, at the moment I am doing everything by mobile phone. I will pick some games I had with opponents where I felt like these situations happen

Raymondje7

game against Uiransousa141 (tie)

tie game against cane_cane was also interesting, i wouldve lost If my opponent didnt let me fork his king and rook

Sorry for the late response. Anyways, I found the games and put them up. Sometimes you will have to accept draws, and better to do that then get greedy and end up blundering a loss instead. That said, you did have chances to pressure them. You have to see what a weak point on the board may be you can target without making yourself vulnerable. You might want to look into trades in general, you don't have to exchange immediately, sometimes better to wait and be ready if they take as it leaves you is a better position. At the same time you have to know which tensions cannot be accepted, there will be times when an opponent has an attack ready and you just need to make a fast exchange to diffuse it. A lot of it boils down to if you are worried they are going to take. But many times you can avoid taking if you don't see a clear gain to it or are avoiding a clear loss to letting it stay.

thx for you analyses! i see there are a lot of opportunities in exchanges and I will learn from them, the first game ended in a draw because i offered it, and he accepted it, otherwise i would have lost (i was very happy with both draws)
