Sure. There are a whole series of articles that try to explain every facet of chess.com. Hopefully you're on a PC, although I'm sure there is mobile access as well. Look to the bottom left of your screen. That's it, the question mark with Help beside it. Now roll your cursor over that and another menu reveals itself. You want Ask a Question.
I've never played the computer from a preset position, but I'm sure you can do it. You could import a PGN file or build the position by hand. I think you could do it from the Analysis board or from Play Computer, but since I've never done it...
So I'll let you do a little research on your own with Help, Ask a Question, and figure it out. Someone else will probably post and give you step by step though. Oh, and under Puzzles, there are dozens (hundreds?) of preset positions that you can play against the computer. Have fun and welcome to the site!
Hi,
I'd like to be able to setup a position on chess.com, and then play it against a computer. Is this possible?
Also, is there a basic "how to use chess.com" page, to walk through the various features, including understanding the analysis tools etc.
Thanks.
PS. I'm a beginner!
