How to start a Daily after issuing a challenge

I sent one of my friends an invite to start a Daily game and they accepted. When I go to the game, it's asking me if I want to cancel the challenge (I don't), it's listing the time control as 15min (it's a 24hr control), and it won't let me start the game by moving. I didn't want to click the X below the "do you want to cancel" dialog in case that cancelled the game (why aren't there two options, yes and no?). 

I'm clearly missing something obvious, but I don't know what. Please help me get this game started! Thx.

This friend has not been online for two days. They can accept the challenge when they next connect to the site.

Ah! I hadn't thought to check if they'd been online; that makes sense. I must have gotten confused by assuming they'd accepted since the game showed up in my Daily queue quite a while after I issued the challenge. Is that normal? The delay between issuing the challenge and seeing it in one's Daily queue, I mean? Thank you for clarifying for me (and for answering such a n00b question)!

I don't think there should be a delay. If I recall correctly, unaccepted daily challenges are not displayed on your home page. You have to go to "play > daily chess" to see them. Maybe you first looked at your home page?

It may have been something like that, something where I noticed it or it was brought to my attention. I'm still tweaking my settings and I think I may have still had it set for my Daily games to "switch to next active game" or whatever that setting is, and having moved in one of my other Dailies, it probably switched to the not-yet-started one, and that's when I got confused. I'm still a bit nervous about breaking etiquette or wasting someone else's time, so when I say "confused" I really mean "panicked."
