There are lots of good vids online from, if you look for IM Rosen, St Louis Chess Club, Atlanta Chess club, IM Levy Rozman, GM Ben Finegold (the last two might be slightly abrasive characters, but if you get used to it, their content is good!)

I checked the FIDE list, there are some good players from the Philippines, but I could not find any videos online by them, but I would imagine there would be some - you should have a search to see if there are any vids you enjoy, my knowledge of the Philippines is a culture that likes to express and pass on knowledge...so you should be able to find resources.

If you like, I will post links to some of the videos that have helped me.

There are plenty of ways to do that, from online resources to posting on the forums.

The main suggestions off the bat.

1. Play a time control slow enough to think over your moves. I find 15-10 works for me, if you need to go slower, that works as well.

2. Keep playing that time control to discover your rating.

3. Keep an eye out for hanging material on both sides of the board, working to protect your own and take your opponent's.

4. Review your games and post close games/losses with your annotations here so players can give suggestions, finding specific problems, etc.

Greetings from another newby of *just* over 3 months playing this crazy game.

Play slower timeframes.  I like 30 minutes and 15|10. And allow yourself to lose a few games because you ran out of time. (One of the best tips another, more experienced player, gave me.)

*Definitely* go through the engine analysis after each of your games. At first it’s confusing, but you’ll get better through it.

The Lessons on Chess.com -- and John Bartholomew's Fundamentals videos on Youtube -- have been a BIG help.  (If you're a beginner and you're NOT a Gold Member, you're hurting only yourself, if you ask me. You get more puzzle and lessons training at that level.)

Check out chessnetwork's channel. He has a beginner to master chess series, very helpful. Once u start picking up the basics his grandmaster game analysis vids are the finest chess tutorials for beginner to intermediate players online tbh.

I  tend to win on time rather than strategy on the blitz . I  want to know more ways to checkmate someone.

Just play chess. U'll naturally get better with more games. Chess is a game that has aspects of pattern recognition.

Do puzzles, play slow games where u can think for each move, and analyse all ur games afterwards.

Don't bother, as you begin to rank up, you'll encounter engine cheaters and never get better.  Good luck

Bad trolling is bad.

Don't worry, you will get better if you keep up good habits

Not trolling, it's truth

Players like to whine too much about "cheating" as an excuse for their poor play. In the hundreds of games I've played on the site, I'm not sure I've faced any cheaters at all. The few that are out there aren't going to cause any serious hindrance to rating, less alone improvement.

Here's what I do. I learn chess and play chess. I recommend you read books to improve your game and make studies out of them. Here is an example of one of my studies on Lichess.com. I play the moves they play in the book but I would also put in some of the notes, mistakes, and interesting ideas that are mentioned as well. Of course, you don't have to do everything the book mentions but the main ideas and anything helpful.

Here is a link to 87 quality chess books to study from all for free. Scroll down and you will find download options and I like to download pdfs and send them to my iPAD and copy to books.

The books help and when you play, you should try to implement these ideas. If someone plays an unusual move that the book doesn't cover or haven't gotten to, finish the game and look over the move with an engine and see what you should do against it. This helped me improve a lot and hope you get something out of this.
