I like the cow opening, it’s very safe

I didn’t know the cow was a recent “meme” opening until today. I’ve only played for 2 months. My highest ELO in 20 was 300ish…but then I got drunk and went lower lol.

I found cow from just playing with openings on the learn feature.

I quite like it because I can use it without having to take in much care for what my opponent does, white or black.

This might only work on lower ELO though. The main drawback is that it’s a slow game…sturdy but slow.

The Cow Opening in chess is a safe and solid opening for beginners, focusing on straightforward development and pawn structure. It typically starts with 1. e4, followed by calm, defensive moves that help control the center and develop pieces efficiently. This opening minimizes early-game risks by avoiding aggressive, complex tactics, making it ideal for players who prefer a cautious approach. Its simplicity allows for easier understanding of basic chess principles, such as piece coordination and king safety, helping players build confidence as they progress.

Completely ChatGPT copypasted, I guess. And, is this whole thread an early (or late) April’s Fool’s joke or something? If not, then just play normal openings, not the Cow, that can be refuted easily.

I improvized that line, where black is much better in the end.

No not chat gpt, that’s just how I type lol.

Again, I’m just two months into intentionally playing. So far though, using the opening regardless of what white or black does has fared well in the silver league so far. I’ve only changed up if the queens pawn is opened first
