Is it because the bishop can swipe in both directions since they landed between two pieces? I was wondering because my dad taught it to us and said I had to take both pieces but since the pawn was in a chain I also lost my bishop!

"Il Vaticano" is not a real chess move. It is a hoax orchestrated by the subreddit /r/AnarchyChess, where participants discuss and make memes about a special move named "Il Vaticano."
