Just a simple question, since, I've been playing with my dad, and I find that OTB I tend to miss more stuff than online.

I’m the same way. I think it’s just a visual thing, but I’m no expert.

I find my self playing a lot better OTB.

When you’re looking at the board online you can very clearly see all pieces and their positions, with otb your perspective is different, it’s easier to visually miss pieces. If you keep it up you’ll get used to it though

Sometimes I get my board out and play against bots.

I do struggle with this, it's a whole new world of blunders I felt I was moving past - when I can I've started playing out my games/puzzles/books on a physical board sat next to the computer/phone, like Jerry said.

I also struggle with this and, like others said, it's purely a visual difference. On chess.com you're seeing 2d on top perspective. OTB you have 3d, being behind the board.

I have found a easy solution: I've configured my account to use 3d visualization when playing on pc, and I do my best to keep playing on pc.

its kind of odd but for some reason I miss more pieces online. even though I can see an overhead view I do better in person.
