Is it okay to have 500 raiting ?

Hello dear chess.com players.

Everyone starts somewhere. It is absolutely okay to have any rating, including 500. A low rating just means lots of room for growth.
It depends. A rating of 500 for a new player is fine. You will improve with time and practice. If you have been playing for some time, and your rating is still 500, you might want to look for some chess help

If you do not want to improve and become a stronger player, then be satisfied with your 500 rating. To be sincere, such low rating signifies a nonentity in chess.

Hello dear chess.com players.
Everyone starts at square 1.

it happens, if you lose on purpose

chess rating (high or low) doesn't indicate intelligence. There are many players who are smart, yet bad at chess and a lot of not so smart people who are great at chess. Rating of 500 is a starting point: we all have to begin somewhere. However, being below 500 for years doesn't mean you are "...stupid that way..." - it simply means that you've been under 500 rating for years. Why? Perhaps you aren't putting much time into chess tactics/study/training etc., or if you are, then you need to change it up so you keep learning new things.

It depends on how much it matters to you. If you play chess to have fun, then a rating number probably won't change that feeling of fun much. If you want to improve at chess, then there are many steps that can be taken to improve, but like anything else in life: it takes practice, time, effort, dedication, persistence, desire to learn and so on ... you get the idea. No one said chess was easy, but improvement is not impossible - it just takes time and patience mainly. If you have this and are still not improving, then perhaps you need to change up how to practice/train. Alternatively, as mentioned, you could just ignore rating/ability and just have fun with chess

500 is normal for a real beginner... probably even a little high.
Some people who call themselves "beginners" aren't actually new to chess... but if someone has only recently learned the rules, and hasn't ever played a game like chess before (e.g. Shogi) then their rating would probably be lower than 500.
But in the beginning you can gain a lot of skill quickly. Going from beginner to 500 may certainly take less than 1 month. Going from 500 to 1000 will likely take most people less than 1 year.
But of course this eventually slows down, and eventually 100-200 points of improvement a year is good.
Its gonna take more than a year to get to 1000. I be bee winning more and get nothing for it. Yet when I lose they take the house.

Keep playing, practice a lot of tactics. It will definitely take less than a year. I started one year ago and my rating went below 500 but now it is much higher than 1000.Just practice lots of tactics, you will get past 1200 easily.
That's kinda fishy. There's no way you went from below 500 to where you are in one year.
