Subscribing is worth if you hardwork
Is it worth paying subscription?

Personally I like having unlimited puzzles which I think help me learn. The extra/unlimited lessons are also good as well. You can do a year long subscription or just pay month by month, yearly is cheaper though. Maybe try a month or two and see what you think?

Is there a particular subscription you would suggest? I think there's several different ones. Thanks.

I've decided to go with the Gold free week subscription as it's the cheapest and seems to have enough content for the amount of spare time I have. Thanks for the advice.

My wife and I both have an account. Hers is free and I pay the gold subscription. I think the paid is def worth it! you just get more options to versatility in the way you play with others and of course lessons and other things. Yes its worth it! There are some really poorly designed things about the site I wish were different. Especially how the website kinda takes away the social aspect of your profile and some of the aspects are not user friendly or intuitive. The help boards are nonexistent any anything I've asked for help on.

puzzles and analytics are absolutely worth it. improves your chess for sure, if you care enough to really look into it.

I wondered the same thing when I first signed up, so I bought a one month subscription at Gold. The value was very evident, so within a week I upgraded to a yearly Diamond. I can say after 6 months that it was money well spent.

That's great to know thank you. Hopefully given time I will improve. Never knew there was so much to the game. It's actually a bit overwhelming!

I had it for 1.5 years and it helped me improve from 800 to 2100 in rapid and bullet. I did work hard though

I'm not planning on working too hard as haven't got the time to do that anyway. It's nice to pick it up and play when I get the time. I'm hoping to improve but not to any very high level as frankly I don't think I'm capable of that.

It's definitely worth it! I'm on a Platinum plan and I love the comfort of having unlimited lessons and puzzles. There is a lot of content/ lessons to digest and the puzzles are endless! It's a great resource to develop your chess!

You don't have unlimited lessons with a platinum membership though

Does anyone knows, is it possible to play unlimited puzzle battles, if opponent (who has premium membership) rematches you?
Or do I also need it? For now, I can only challenge my friend once, then I can send a rematch. So my question is, what if he sends the rematch, can I accept (or will it be denied)?

I went with the Gold subscription because it offers something like 25 puzzles a day, which is hard to hit. You only get 3 lessons a week, but I have a toddler, so 3/week is a good amount. I don't have access to all the content (videos, etc), and I have been tempted to upgrade for certain achievements, but that's just the completionist in me. So far, I've been very satisfied with the Gold.
Hi there, I've been playing chess on and off for years but never really studied the game and just played pretty badly for fun.
I now want to study the game properly through books, online challenges such as what is available on here but I havent paid any subscription yet and wanted to ask if it was worth it?
If it is there appears to be different levels of subscription and as a beginner I'm unsure which would best suit me.
Is it a one off payment just for the year and dies it automatically renew. I don't want to get tired into something that's difficult to get out of.
Would appreciate any advice. Thank you.
