How do you keep your cool when you make a move that’s so obviously stupid yet you only realize the magnitude of your own stupidity immediately after you’ve made said move ?

@KMWS I can’t even understand wtf was going on with that opening. My last game, I could have pulled out a draw but made a moronic move that a blind, sedated orangutan would have laughed at which cost me the game. FML.

well the guy played f5 so i was going to set up agaisnt a dutch then he played b6 looking to fianchetto his bishop, just confused me. i got tunnel vision looking to jump my knight into his weak squares an forgot the queen was still on the home square LOL then i just fell apart being pissed about losing a peice. .. but i jumped back in the mix an had a solid game the next go around.

It's funny, after my game tonight I was just thinking along those lines. When my opponent makes a move that surprises me, usually with a bishop coming across the board, I just kind of blow a fuse mentally. Instead of regrouping and finding a still decent or possibly winning move. Maybe I need to count to ten or take three deep breaths or something. If you find the answer please post it!
