Hi,
Thank you for reply. I disagree with your point of view. I played Damiano Gambit in the past and I won in very few moves. Until move 6 is all theory, so you cannot say:
"you never tried to castle.
you didnt develop your queenside pieces.
You grabbed material instead of developing and king safety"
I mean, you're right but it is the theory that suggest to do it. If you will analyze deeply the game (with lichess or chess.com) you notice that untile move 6 my moves are simply theory. The big mistake were 2:
- dont understand that d6 prepared the Bishop.
- Then I preferred to capture the Knight with the Queen (here computer give as blunder)
- In the sequence Bg4+,f3, Bxf3+, gxf3, Qxf3+ the best move for me was Ke1. I dont know why I moved Be2.
However, my question was if these schema was a trap of my opponent that I didn't know. I try to seaarch if a counter Damiano Gambit exists but I didn't find it.
Hi all,
I know what you're thinking. It is impossible lose against the Damiano Defense, but I did.
This is the game:
https://www.chess.com/game/live/59158782023
Aafter the opening: 1. e4, e5; 2. Nf3, f6;
I immediately played 3. Nxe5 for the Daamiano Gambit and the opponent replied with 3. .. fxe5. This was what I waanted. I game continued with Qh5+, g6, Qxe5+, Qe7, Qxh8, Qxe4+, Kd1. So far this is the theory. He replied with d6 and I didn't understand he was opening the diagonal for Black Bishop and I did my big mistake Qxg8.
Now what I want to ask: do you think this counterattack was planned from the beginning. This counterattack to the Damiano Gambit is something that is know in the Chess world? I didn't find any counter gambit like this on the web.
I only want to understand if this is a well know counter Damiano gambit or it is simply a my bad move.
Thanks
