manual board set up on chess.com

These questions have probably been asked a million times and I hope it’s not daft but can I use chess.com to set up and work through historic matches or chess puzzles (not necessarily the ones they set) ie can I use it a manual board? And would I need to be connected to the internet as this could make the ideal travel option. If not, is there software where I can do this on my computer and phone? Tnx
