I've started in February this year. This is what I did to improve:

https://www.chess.com/blog/nklristic/the-beginners-tale-first-steps-to-chess-improvement

It is pretty detailed, but I believe that it might give you some basic structured training.

Apart from that, you have premium membership, use that option and go through lessons. You can go through 5 per week I believe.

Some books are too tough for improving players.

Thanks for sharing that link @nklristic. I’m certainly a beginner, started in November. 37yrs old, never too late to start I hope, lol.

Have you tried the learn tab on Chess.com? Those courses really helped me get a grasp on how I should move my pieces, and gave me knowledge of some tactics as well.

Hi! I started playing chess in May this year and i started at 400 ELO, now i'm at 700 bitz and 900 rapid but i've been here for a couple of months! I am f- unable to improve!!! Can someone recommend me some books or videos or anything so i can improve? I'm getting to the point where i cant play games anymore because of how angry i get when i blunder and when i lose. I only know 2 openings, 1 for white and 1 for black -> London system and kings indian but lately i also started playing E4 and got a few wins but also lots of loses cause im not familiar. I JUST CANNOT IMPROVE i don't know whats wrong!

One answer - TACTICS... solve tactics puzzles and also visualization problems (try to visualize where pieces will end up if certain captures etc are made.  You might need to study tactics and improve visualization for many hours a day and that's pretty much the fastest way to improve from <1000.

One important thing, solve tactics not only to solve them but use them as a visualization exercise. Try different moves in your head and see where the pieces will end up.

If you do that for hours then u can comfortably get to 1500 in only a few months.
