The missed win does not necessarily mean that there is checkmate coming soon, just that there was a chance to get a 'winning' advantage. Something the engine considers overwhelming. Here as you see by the line given after dxe5 Bxf7+ black is playing Ke7 which is horrible because his king is stuck in the centre, it obstructs the Bf8. This is a huge advantage for white. Black must go Ke7 because if Kxf7 there is Qxd8 winning the black queen.
Missed win . Why?
It says that missed wins include taking favorable pieces. That knight is a goner with a pawn push. It's pinned by the bishop (I guess black could give up the queen). Pawn takes knight then pawn takes pawn and you'll be up 2 points in strength. This can be refuted if pawn to h6 is played. Your pawn takes knight and pawn and black takes bishop. You'll still be up one point and two pieces. The alternative is pawn takes pawn. Then you sack the bishop to F7. King takes then your queen takes black's queen. You'll be up 7 points and two pieces.
i suppose because there is no forced checkmate in a few moves it is hard to believe white is winning by a large margin. after all white "only" managed to misplace the king on e7. assessing this as a winning advantage without having to see everything until the checkmate requires intuition gained from solving tactical themes similar to this. king exposed and in the way of his own army. i don't know if there are any shortcuts. you just have to solve similar positions to gain that feel.
Chess.com says I should move this pawn because it’s a missing win but I can’t see the win for the next moves. What would it be?
thank you
