Playing Bots vs. Real People

I am having difficulty getting above the 600 level while playing live opponents on line, but I am able to beat bots at the 1500 level.

This doesn't make sense to me. Any insights anyone?.

Thank  you.

Bot estimated ratings are generally a lot higher than their playing strength, in many cases.

You might have more anxiety playing real people.

Bots tend to be very predictable, have one-note playing styles, and easily fall for opening traps. Also, they're programmed to randomly make incredibly braindead errors, regardless of skill.

Some bots go even further and get "frustrated" when they play a bad move. Martin XIII is one such bot. If you're wondering when you should stop and look for good moves, just wait until he explicitly points out that he made a mistake or (especially) "throws a pawn at the wall."

None of these statements apply to humans. That is why they're so much better than the bots.

That also happens to me haha

I really doubt that this is a real feature, not just your imagination.

Ofcourse let's put aside stockfish, um but a 1000 elo real player can punish you than a 1000 elo bot, Bots are programmed, they can't improve their plans, Infact they cannot make plans..They just analyse the position and sets it over the board. They have no traps and the play on calculations than instincts.. intuition is the key that still kept humans alive here. Now obviously playing a human can put you on your nerves than a bot, Because as one of the above writers said the same thing...They are predictable...infact stockfish is predictable too but the main thing is we ain't capable for predicting a 3200 engine . But we are capable for engines till 2800( magnus) there..if anyone could have...And a bot will play in a programmed way rather than tactics,, which is generally useless in 1000 level...But you face a real player,, you may quit chess...If you are 600 paired against a 1000 one

This is complete nonsense from start to finish. None of it is even remotely true. Or reasonable.

Bots are overrated by design to make you feel better and spend more time on chess.com

Why don't you play a game against him and find out for yourself. When he blunders, he gets mad. Every time that dialogue popped up when I played against him, there was a crushing move to swing the game in my favor. It's hardly my imagination. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Igotskills_19

This reads like a hallucination.

You’re already strong enough to beat a 1500 bot, so your chess ability is higher than your rating suggests. Once you adapt to the chaotic nature of human play, you’ll climb past 600 in no time.
