Playing Daily Chess.... More than one game at a time?

I have, like thousands of others in this pandemic and post-Queens Gambit world recently become reacquainted with Chess.  I was, as a young adult several generations ago, very enthusiastic if not skilled.  I am currently engaged in my very first online "Daily Chess" game and am enjoying it immensely.  Currently I don't have many options for actual across the board in-person play with people.  My question is: as a returning beginner to Chess would it be wise to engage in more than one Daily Chess game at a time?  Is it best to focus - at this point in my chess reeducation effort - on one game that can go on for days with lots of down time between moves (during which I find myself conjuring up mental images of the ongoing game) or moving between two or more games and splitting my attention between them?  Naive question perhaps... but I'd appreciate some thoughts from others who may have passed through this phase themselves.  Thanks, Cheers!

Hi there. My suggestion is to have a go and see how you feel. I sometimes play 2 or 3 simultaneously but felt a bit overwhelmed when I entered my first tournement and found myself with 10 on the go. The challenge can be remembering your plans for each game, so it might be helpful to keep notes.

I agree with MarkGrubb: play a handful and once and see how it suits you. I max out around 5, but other people have scores going at once. It just boils down to comfort level and how much time you want to spend.

It's all a matter of personal comfort level.  Take it slow and easy at first.  The advice offered above is reasonable.  But you will find many on the site who are playing dozens of daily games simultaneously.  Personally, I couldn't do that, nor would I want to - there would be little room for any life beyond chess.com.

I started playing online chess after a long break a bit over a year ago. I started with daily chess and played a couple of games just one game at a time and only then participated in my first tournament, where there were 10 games simultaneously. I would suggest to do a couple of games one at a time. The advantage is that your rating gets adjusted after each game, so you get opponents more equal to your real level.

For me playing several games simultaneously became easier, when I started studying a bit of openings and chose some pet lines, which I play often, so I can play the openings without so much of effort. This also helps further on as the positions are similar to ones I've played before. For me currently about 20 games is a maximum (I want to calculate and learn from my games and that takes some time), but I've seen players with more than a thousand games ongoing.
