Glad to see you around. Thank you for giving me a reason to block you.

Trust me... only after you've reached maybe 1600 on blitz will you stop finding stupidly aggressive play that teaches you nothing or idiotic lines that nobody cares about.
Nah, even at the GM level, blitz chess has a lot of stupid moves for the sake of aggression and pressuring the opponent into blundering.
Obviously some GM blitz games are high quality, but my point is when it comes to blitz you never completely escape the BS
quite impossible on chess.com. After having reached 1200 on blitz again (after a few months), I've realized people still play bs stuff against me. And it's very hard to enjoy the game when people play that way. So I've decided that, since my beginner career is over, my chess.com career is also soon to be over.
My advice to other beginners is... either play rapid of at least 30 minutes (either 30+0) or other similar time controls or do your learning elsewhere and only come here with a new account and start with a high rating. Don't attempt to climb the blitz ladder while learning because it will only be a waste of time.
Trust me... only after you've reached maybe 1600 on blitz will you stop finding stupidly aggressive play that teaches you nothing or idiotic lines that nobody cares about. But it's fairly annoying to play until you reach that level from say 800 or so. However, if you just want to play for fun, go ahead, chess.com will not disappoint you.
"Update: I have picked up the habit of blocking players I don't want to play any further. So, it's likely (but not sure) that if you score a "fantastic" win (or several in a row) against me, I may end up blocking you. I only want to play players I have a chance of beating even by playing bad bullet. Some may call it sore loser, but this is for fun..."
The contradiction of all contradictions.

I don't see the contradiction. It's a very clear explanation.
But the good thing is... I'll be blocking less players anyway, since I'm not going to play as much from now on.
Because I can. And also, because it may help other beginners to notice that they will not be able to learn from blitz because many of their opponents are likely to play absolute rubbish against them.
After reading your profile I see your problem. You will never learn to play better chess if you block everyone who you feel you cannot win against. Blitz or bullet or any game time is not the problem. Your attitude about other players is. You think chess should be fun but only for you. To make a thread about leaving is pointless. Just leave.
After reading your comment, I see your problem. You will never understand what I'm talking about. Blitz or bullet or even fast rapid online here is something I do for fun. If people don't make it fun for me, I'm out. You seem to imply that on your own profile, yet you come to this thread to comment on how I will never learn to play better chess if I block people that annoy me.
This may come as a shock to you but people don't come here to "make it fun for you".
No shock. That's why i made the decision I made and why I made the thread I made. People here are not something I can control. But I can control playing live chess here. Since it has stopped being fun and since I can't do any learning on it (because of the way MANY of my opponents play), I don't see any value in me playing that here. Hence, why I'm ceasing.
When you were a child (last year) did you take your ball and go home if your friends wouldn't let you get a home run?
I never played ball in my childhood. Also, for somebody whose profile is about having chess as a hobby and not taking it that seriously, I find it funny that you object to me stopping to participate because it has stopped being entertaining as a hobby.
From all your posts can only be vissible that you have some serious issues. You have problems with opponents 'stupid' moves because you do not know how to play chess and to convert into advantages, and that's all. If you know to play chess, you would defeat all of these and very soon you ll be facing, as higher rated player, high rated and more serious opponents.
It is not chess.com site, nor all of the comunity who are guilty for your problems.
Try to seek some profesional assistance unless this kind of approach overflow to the other daily jobs and activities.
Play, quit whatever. Blocking anyone you want is up to you. Doing it because they beat you or make moves you don't like and then telling the world about it is childish
That's a valid opinion. I disagree 100% (no that you, or anyone would care). Let me remind you it is you who came to comment on the thread that I started. If you think it's childish, if it doesn't matter, you can stop posting comments.

I don't mind playing serious chess if my opponents do so themselves (but I refuse to play serious chess on this site). Many don't play serious chess, they want to play chess for fun, which is respectable. It's just that my idea of fun isn't their idea of fun. So, I have decided that... since I can't control how they will play, I'll stop playing on live chess...
