- Puzzle 1: 1. Qg8+ fails to 1... Kxg7 winning the queen and the game. The best move still results in a smothered mate but takes a few extra steps.
- Puzzle 2: There are two much better moves: Ra8# or Qd8# immediately end the game.
- Puzzle 3: The White King is missing
