Queen bishop attack

Hi. I've been playing a lot of games lately and losing because the opponent used the attack with the queen and bishop and I don't know how to respond. Does anyone know if that move has a name so I can look up what to do? Or maybe knows what to do?

It's when they bring their queen out one side and the bishop the other side so when they come in with the queen it's checkmate in like three moves

It's called Scholar's mate. If you are playing black and your opponent brings the queen first to h5, you just protect the pawn on d5 by bringing your knight to c6. Now when the opponent brings the bishop, you attack the white queen by playing g6. If your opponent goes Qf3, threating checkmate again, you can develop your other knight to f6 and now you are safe.

This checkmate is very common in beginner's play.  The mate is very easy to defend against, as Olsionh pointed out.  To help you in the future, ask questions before you make a move, such as, "Can my opponent safely capture a piece(s) of mine?".  If so, find a way to defend.  Sometimes you can also move the unprotected piece that is being attacked.. . I hope that this helps.  ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE MOVING.
