Which raiting is more ?

Which raiting is less ?

Let's say... Some National Master has 2000 points of FIDE raiting... What raiting does he (she) have on chess.com ... then ?

I mean if he playes on chess.com constantely... not now and then.

If he plays thousands and thousands games here.

This question is very interesting for me.

A rating is not absolute. It is not handed down by God.

A rating only makes sense RELATIVE to a specific pool of players... that pool of players who interact with each other to create the rating spread.

So a comparison of FIDE and chess.com ratings would only be valid if the two pools were composed of the SAME players. Otherwise, you are comparing apples with giraffes.

Loosely speaking, I think many people who have both a FIDE rating and a chess.com rating, seem to be about 200 points higher on chess.com. At least when you consider their blitz rating.

It’s just a very loose observation.
I’d estimate a 2000 fide to have a 2200 blitz rating.

Some people are very strong at blitz compared to their classical rating though, also - the higher your rating; the larger the gap, eg. Narositsky is a 2600 fide but is typically 3100-3200 blitz. Hikaru is 2730-ish FIDE and is typically 3200 blitz.

good question, @kraig 's answer is great

FIDE is the only one that counts between the two.

Usually a player’s FIDE rating is lower than chess.com by around 150~200, but it depends on their performance! Some people are better face-to-face while others prefer online chess.

Look... Does it mean that over here... if 3000 points of rating is Maximum... and Zero points is Minimum... then I am on the avarage level with my 1400-1500 points...  right ?

And if more people play on chess.com than they participate in FIDE tournaments... it means that chess.com's rating is more objective.

Dennis, hello. )

But how can one check out what his rating would be on the real FIDE scale ?

Last year before coronavirus pandemia... I went to one chess club here in Moscow... in Sokolniki park... but how I could understand nobody had FIDE rating there... in this chess club.

All were amateurs like me.

Kraig, and what... ?

Are there chess players who has 400-500 points of FIDE rating as we have the players with the such lowest rating on chess.com ?

I ask this question because I can't understand how many points they set for the lowest rating level for chess.com and for FIDE.

Pay your FIDE fee and start playing FIDE tournaments, Have to work your way up the ladder, Because of Covid  they now have Tournaments on-line.

Dennis, I think that only professional players participate in the FIDE tournaments.

So there is no sense for me to join them... I will lose all my games only... and I will spend my fee in vain.

DWM59

Never know, Anybody can join, Give it a shot.

Just look them up, for example Alexandra Botez has 2020 for std and 2059 for blitz on fide.com and 2142 on chess.com (I see that her FIDE rating is also (wrong) mentioned on her profile

It's impossible to have a FIDE rating below 1000. They'll just classify you as "unrated" instead.

So if you're below 1200 blitz on Chess.com, you're probably not going to have a FIDE rating at all.

On average, I'd say someone who is rated 2000 blitz on Chess.com would be around 1700-1800 FIDE rating. But for me currently, I'm 2023 blitz on this site and only 1245 FIDE, thanks to the lockdown making it impossible for me to play any FIDE rated tournaments.

I assume you are talking about your rapid. The avg. rapid rating on chess.com is 926.94, though some people may be inactive. There are much more beginners than masters

Okey. It's good. It means that I am not so bad with my 1400 points of rating in Rapid.

By the way it's more easy for me to play Rapid than Blytz. ))

As for the FIDE tournments... I even can not imagine where can I find even the one FIDE tournment in Moscow.

I am not a proffesional player.

I always feel like frustration when I play with proffesional players who are 100-200-400 points above me. )))

korotky_trinity

And National Masters are like a kind of gods for me.

I did beat one International Master over here... IM Voja... but it was only in Simul.

Sigognac

Good site for that: https://chessgoals.com/rating-comparison/#Chesscom_Rating_vs_FIDE_and_USCF .

tehanu

I’m 1550 FIDE.

Here, I’m trash.
