That's just total bull crap, IMO. Scholar's mate is a completely valid strategy with pros and cons, there's nothing unsportsmanlike to play the game the way they are designed in a competitive game. What's unsportsmanlike would be those who are complaining that the other player are just playing a game by the rules.
In any case, defending against Wayward Queen opening is pretty simple, and a successful defense would have given Black an advantage as White loses quite a bit of development. If Black doesn't like that White is playing WQA, then they should go through a ten minute tutorial to deal with WQA and then just delight in White's losing their advantage.
