Solitaire Chess

Hi,

I am trying to help my kids improve in chess (I am a cchesss amuter myself) and I remeber fondly that Solitaire chess was fun and productive.

Ii am having hard time finding resources for that (annotated games that are already marked with points per move). Can you share few games like this? (Chess Life had a coulmn so i have heard but I can seem to find anything on the web)

Thanks,

Roi

You can play your own version.  Play over the winning side.  Cover the moves so the kids can't see them and ask what they would play, comparing to the move played.  Go all the way to the end.  Do your best to explain the moves. You will learn too.  One grandmaster claimed that is how he studied to become a gradmaster.

Thanks.

As I am a 1900 level I prefer someone will pick the good games and will give some annotations...

Are you familiar with a way to buy soft copy of Chess Life magazine? that will do the trick.

In the U.S. people sell old copies cheap at tournaments.  Probably you could buy a dvd with old games on it.

If you are 1900 FIDE, I suggest you buy one Informant, either a dvd or a book.  It has all you need.  Might even takes you to master.

Hey All,

I noticed that chessgames.com has a solitaire chess feature. Does chess.com have anything similar? Also, anyone suggest a book with good annotations on master games? I'm looking to do solitaire chess, but need the annotations for the games so that I can compare my thoughts with the annotator.

Thanks in advance!

This would have been great if Chess.com would add this feature.
