Step by step guide to a 1000 elo (rapid)

Focus 80% of your time on tactical puzzles, and how to solve them.
I'd look up John Bartholomew's Tactics Rating Ladder up to 1000 video to understand the methodology of looking for checks, captures, threats, etc.
The other 20% can be split between basic endgames (like King and Pawn vs King, and Rook Endgames) and learning the broader basic principles (opening principles, development, etc).

Watch ChessBrah's Building Habits series on YouTube. Follow his rules...capture free pieces, develop your pieces, centralize your pieces (rooks, knights), capture towards the center, do only trades that are beneficial, push pawns when your development is finished, activate your king in the end game. His series took me from about 650 rating to being 900-1000 after watching and practicing his principals..

Improving at chess can be quite challenging, but there are various ways to enhance your skills.
For those looking to improve without coaching, here's some valuable advice:
1. Play Frequently: The more you play, the better you'll become at recognizing patterns and making strategic decisions.
2. Analyze Your Games: Review your past games to identify mistakes and areas where you can improve. This self-analysis is a powerful learning tool.
3. Focus on Tactics: Tactics play a crucial role in chess. Spend time solving tactical puzzles and exercises to sharpen your tactical skills.
4. Learn from Masters: Studying grandmaster games can provide insights into advanced strategies and tactics.
