I've been developing a way of playing accurately that is working consistently when I apply it, and it gets more consistent, and more strong as I add on to it. So far, I have read three books and watched about 10 videos on Chess and need to read about six more books, then study some games and then it should be finished.
Basically, I started with a master's method of candidate moves, which works for creating around 50% chess engine accuracy, but the other 50% comes from building around it.
But if you are struggling with the bots or struggling with getting a consistent minimum, these will help you some, but not carry you all the way.
Colors chosen are totally random and don't matter much. The games are there to show that the thinking system works...Chess vision for 30-60 moves ahead is not needed, memorizing lines is not needed but you do need to understand the theory and grounds of chess logic to use this system. Much less time consuming and sweaty than repeating games over and over and losing over and over.
