Why are some of the live Swiss tournaments labeled as ”(Open)"?
it might be because they are OPEN tournaments

Open means available to any player, any level. But that does mean facing a lot of players who will likely be years ahead of you in experience. Non-open tournaments will have limits for only players of a certain level (just beginners, or just advanced players, etc.)
Are there specific rating categories for the non Open Swiss tournaments?
