There are two logical options but I recommend my first one:
1) Play even longer time controls Everyone naturally thinks at different speeds, so instead of rushing, just increase time control so you are comfortable and not rushed. You can lessen the time control gradually with more experience and practice when you will be able to calculate faster, have patterns in mind and be able to play better chess overall
2) Learn to move faster. You can save time on the game by learning opening theory (so you spend less time navigating the opening during the actual game) or learning basic theoretical endgames (similarly, so you can convert them quicker with confidence).
I usually play 15|10 rapid and I find myself spending too much time on moves, and I end up being way behind my opponent time at the end of the game, which I feel unnecessarily clouds my ability to play in comparison to my opponent. What are some good tips or strategies to not wasting time on moves? Anything is appreciated, thanks in advance.
