Anytime you have way more "best moves" than "excellent + good" combined, you know you are on a good track. And this shows up in the accuracy of 85+. Congrats.
I will probably try to start playing real people in the near future, but my rating of 1027 is way overblown. I have only played one game and I got a +227 point boost in my rating from my starting level of 800. I assume that I am somewhere in the 600-1000 range -- but there is no way to tell until I play a bunch of real games.
So this one took me a few days and about 20 tries. I think I finally had a profound realization about my game. The concept of "leave no piece undefended" was not something I had really taken to heart. I, of course, have heard it mentioned numerous times and it took me playing Wendy Bot for it to really sink in.
I'm posting a screenshot of the game report below and I find myself extremely proud of these numbers. Mostly the 0 blunders statistic. I found determined defense and opportunistic offense really worked for me in this game. Make sure every piece is defended and make the right moves at the right time and the offensive opportunities will come.
Anyway, I'm enjoying posting about my progress. Now if only I could settle my nerves when it comes to playing actual people. For some reason and I think it has to do with the possibility of losing ratings points, I get very nervous when playing for points. I should probably relax, enjoy the game, and take every loss as a learning opportunity. But when analyzing my losses I notice the mistakes I make are something I would usually have no problem seeing. But I'm sure I'll adjust to it in time.
Thanks again for reading. Hope you're all enjoying the game as much as I have been. I'm glad I came back to Chess.
