what is the best move to start of with?

There is no best move. Anyone who tells you one move is better than every other is lying. Find an opening move you like and play it.
The moves 1 e4, 1 d4, 1 c4, and 1 Nf3 are generally considered the best moves to start with.
See Figure 5 and Figure 31

In the opening, anything can happen.
And at lower levels, it just doesn't matter. Only at high levels when everything has to remain connected throughout the game, first moves can determine the total structural configuration of the board. Then, in my preference, d4, e4, c4, and Nf3 are the best moves indeed.
For now, you could even start 1. Na3, 1. e4 2. Ke3, or 1.e3 2.Bb5 and play a decent game.
zone_chess, you're exactly right. What people like tygxc don't realise is that not everyone plays like a GM. That's exactly why I said to find an opening move that OP likes.

This is a great way to improve!
To answer your question: there is no best move to start out with. I suggest starting out with e4 or d4 as white. These moves control the center and opens the diagonal for your bishops. Master level players start out with e4 and d4 too! I have been playing e4 for many players.
Here’s more ideas to help you get better.
-I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces” and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.” Both books are available on Amazon.com. Both books are endorsed by chess masters!
-If you are serious about chess, I highly recommend you hiring a chess coach to help you.
-Also consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side. Always as, “If I move here, where is my opponent going to move?”. Do this for every single move!
-Play with a slow time control, such as G/30 so you have plenty of time to think before every move.
