I'm only playing 10 min games, when I started it was the default option. But on the forum, I realized that most players play bullet or blitz. am I having the worst experience playing 10 minute games? do the best players do bullet or blitz? What do you guys think?

This is a rough topic. If you are a new player definitely play with YOUR comfortable time control and progress from there. Rapid games are the most popular on the site and I'd start with that time control.

If you're more experienced, still play comfortably. Personally I prefer 5|5 blitz for a good game.

I hope this helps.

If hanging pieces are a problem for you, play in a time control where you have enough time to have everything protected.

If you want to improve you should play longer times. G30, 45|45 and even Daily. It will give you more time to think. Fast chess is fun so continue with this if you enjoy it but make time every week for longer games if you want to get better. Personally, I dont play less than G30. I prefer a thoughtful games but everyone is different.

Don't play bullet/blitz when you are new. It will stop you from improving.

Rapid is great, I only play it atm.

Spend more time solving tactical problems than playing. Rapid games (10/15 or 30 minutes) are ideal. But it's okay to play blitz for fun, preferably 3 2, (and never play bullet in your level). Also daily chess is a good tool. But your game will only improve with a lot of study, just playing will not improve much.

Do what you enjoy, otherwise what's the point?

If you need to learn openings, and if making silly mistakes like hanging pieces is a frequent issue, if you can't scan a board in a couple of seconds to see what's going on, then I would recommend playing longer games.

To improve, I doubt it's helpful to play quick games, but that's another thread, and I'm sure some would disagree.

I wouldn't worry about what the best players do.

In general, low rated players prefer slower games (like 20 minute rapid) and high rated players prefer fast games (like 3 minute blitz).

This makes sense because low rated players are unfamiliar with a lot of positions, so they need the extra time to figure things out, whereas high rated players have seen a lot of similar positions before and they can play just from intuition.

Fala mano,
