1. e4, e5 2. Nf3 this is the king's pawn opening: king's knight variation. Now Nc6 is still the same opening as it leads to other openings (Ruy Lopez, Italian game, scotch game, ponziani, etc.) That is why if you look in the chess.com explorer it calls it "king's pawn opening: king's knight variation 2.Nc6"
Hi all,
I studied some beginners opening, mainly the e4 (King) one.
I noticed that some of them (Ruy-Lopez and Italian Game) start with the combination: 1. e4, e5 2. Nf3, Nc6. I tried to search whether exists a name for this configuration or not.
Does anyone know if a name for this configuration exists? This is only my curiosity.
On Chess.com Opening explorer it is simply reported as King's Opening Variation. On the web, I didn't find a name for it.
