when are you good at Chess ?

"Good" is a relevant term. I am only rated 1270 USCF. Among tournament players I'm mediocre--occasionally taking a game from a much higher rated player who underestimates me.
Among casual players who play at family reunions, I'm considered a killer--beyond good.
So when are you considered good? Depends on the environment.
But, objectively, most would consider a player to be good when he hits 1600+ USCF.
I'm not sure there is a 'good' in chess. It's all relative. I prefer beginner (<1400), intermediate 1400 to 1800, advanced 1800+, and then you are into a variety of master levels. Numbers are give or take but you get the idea.

Exactly!! Your dog is so cute by the way!!

I would say when you pass from 1400, is just that in levels that are bellow 1400 is really normal to see a lot of pieces that they give for free, once you pass that you are good I guess

I’m 1611 uscf! I’m good! Yay! :-D

Most people would say a rating >200 above their own is "good".
I remember last year, being a 1000 rated player, thinking a 1200 was a good player, and that I'd be content reaching 1500 "one day". One year later, I'm a 1600 player and still think I'm trash.
GM Eric Hansen says in his blitz speedrun video that 1500 is when a chess player starts, but I dont think he had any serious stance on it, it was just a throw-away comment.
I personally have always thought 1700 is "good" but I bet in a few months time if I pass 1700, I'll still think its trash lol. I'd personally say a blitz rating of >2000 is good!

Yes 1700s are trash imo xD. But that blitz rating 2000+... was good yesterday, am not good anymore

At the moment, I am just casually reading the comments, feeling increasingly inferior about my skill lol.

Everyone is good at chess!
Even people who believe pawns can move backwards? Cause i knew such a person.
