where to find patient mentor(s)/player(s)

History has shown me that I’m, unintentionally, a frustrating person. I just don’t “get it”, anything, it seems at time; life in general. Where could I look to find patient & positive player(s) to play an chat/analysis/strategize etc?
PS- It’s mostly my fear of failure and being made to feel foolish that’s hindered me from putting myself out there to improve, but with chess I feel like I’m on common ground, finally.

Thank you for your patience.

Those attributes are hard to find, especially when you have little to offer in return. Some people who find they are good at things after spending thousands of hours learning find that they need to eat and will patiently trade you some of their knowledge and time as long as you help them survive. They call themselves coaches.

That said, a lot of patience and positive reinforcement went into the building of this website. There is a whole series of interactive lessons for beginners and some of the computer bot personalities are as positive as can be.
