Why is my puzzle rating 950 points higher than my main rating?

I usually play rapid games and my rating is around 1200, which I think is representative of my skill. However, recently I haven't had time for a game, and I just do my puzzles. 

What I found surprising is that my puzzle rating is 2150. I feel like if I was actually that good at tactics I would be better in games. 

If my tactical skills are actually good, what can I do to translate them into real games?

Tactics aren't everything and your tactics rating won't normally correlate with your rapid rating. I have a 3000+ tactics rating but I won't be anywhere close to 3k rapid/blitz. Tactics rating are just for fun mostly and not a base of your real strength. As for bringing tactics into your game and improving from there there are a lot of resources and people out there, if you ever need my help just private message me! In puzzles you learn an isolated skill: finding hidden moves. You are extremely good at this, because your puzzle rating is at such a high level.

But you play against people who learned the game another way, most people just play because they have fun, so they have a ton of games in their pocket. They learn about the things that repeat allot in low level games, like hanging pieces, tactic traps etc. 

You probably make not many blunders in that department, however, the game on average has 40 moves, so you need to have huge self control to play perfectly the entire game and not miss anything. One blunder is enough to lose the entire game. If you are ahead in chess, you generally have a much easier time, it is a snowball effect.

How much time do you spend solving a puzzle?
How much time do you spend playing a move in a game?
The time in a game should be longer, as you do not know if there is a tactic and for which side.

The simplest answer is that the two ratings measure different things. Maybe the same reason my daily rating is double my bullet rating.

Well, 1,1K Rapid and 1,5K Puzzles - not a huge difference? Well, 0,8 K in Puzzle Battle. =

How about those who have 60000+ rating points for puzzles then?

In fact "the great memory guy" usually does it unintentionally. There are only a limited number of 3000+ rated puzzle. Most of those puzzles will leave an impression if you cycle a couple of times through all of them.

Your 5765 rush attempts is truly impressive. Two minutes minimum on each attempt, and it's 8 full days on puzzle rush at least.

Same. I'm around 1400 in live and 2200 in puzzles.

I think they could (and would be better) to change the rating in puzzles to make It closer to the game actual rate. Because I also have a much higher rating in tatics and It seems the majority of people are also in this scenario, therefore I actually have no Idea If I am actually good ir bad in tatics for my rating.

Im 900 rated, I also have an insane amount of puzzle rating, 2232.

When solving puzzles, you are in a controlled environment where you know there is a tactic to find. This makes it easier to focus solely on finding the solution without worrying about the broader context of a game.

1850 in puzzles and 600 in games. I'm too impulsive in games.

1372 rapid and can't seem to climb slope of 1900 puzzles anymore unless I'm not stressed out

also why do you start off with LOWER rating puzzle points when it'll just immediatlely shoot up way past game rating? (beginner: starts with 800 rapid + blitz + bullet, 400 puzzles)
